- Claims that China is forcing New Delhi to invest more in the defense sector by deploying troops along the border
- Despite the conclusion of military-level talks, the border dispute remains unresolved
- India’s economy, which is growing at the rate of 7 to 8 percent, has become a 4 trillion dollar economy.
Mukesh Aghi, head of the US-based India Business and Strategic Group, has said that China will never consider India as an equal partner. By deploying troops along the border, China is forcing New Delhi to invest more in defense rather than capital investment. There has been a standoff between the armies of India and China since May 2020. Even though both sides have completed several rounds of diplomatic and military level talks, the border dispute remains unresolved. Mukesh Aghi is the Chairman of the US-India Strategic and Partnership Forum. He said that it is happening for the first time in the history of the human world that a democratic country with a population of 1.4 billion people is developing so fast. India’s economy, which is growing at the rate of 7 to 8 percent, has become a 4 trillion dollar economy.
A challenge to India
Mukesh Aghi said that the challenge of economic development is facing India. China is the biggest challenge facing India. China will not look at India as an equal status. China is a military power, an economic and technology power. Its mission began with dominance in the Asia Pacific. China considers India as the biggest challenger on that front.
