POK News: People in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) have started a revolt against Pakistani atrocities, following which a war-like situation has emerged. A large number of Kashmiris took to the streets against the atrocities of Pakistan. Pakistani security forces have used heavy force to quell the protests. There have also been reports of Pakistani forces firing on people.
According to India Today, the people of PoK organized a massive protest on Saturday 11 May to protest the taxes and rising prices imposed by Pakistan, but a day earlier, Additional forces were called in and people were detained following which public fury erupted.

According to reports, Pakistani forces arrested more than 70 activists without any warrant and information in Mirpur district of PoK to quell the protests. After this, angry mobs took to the streets. Protesting the arrests, the general public pelted stones at the security forces and clashes broke out at several places. According to a report by news agency ANI, Section 144 has been imposed in the area.

Pakistan is resorting to violence to crush protests. The administration has deployed additional forces, including Pakistan Rangers and Frontier Corps personnel. According to a report in the Pakistani newspaper Dawn, the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee announced a long march, to stop which more than 70 activists have been arrested. Pakistani forces have not spared even the children. Police fired tear gas shells, which landed inside the school. There is news of many girls getting injured in this.

The Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee called a general strike on Friday to pressurize the Pakistan government to abide by the agreement reached in February this year. In which the strike of transporters was also involved. The committee accused the Islamabad government of not fulfilling the agreements.
