The incident that took place in PoK, which has been annexed by the neighboring country Pakistan, for the last two days is in much discussion. Agitation against high prices of wheat flour and electricity in PoK has reached its peak. The people there are protesting against the government of Pakistan. Meanwhile, a police officer was killed and over 100 people were injured in violent clashes between protesters and security forces. Most of the injured are policemen. Seeing the changed situation in PoK, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif looks nervous. Pak PM has expressed serious concern over the situation in PoK and said that unfortunately the situation is being taken for political advantage.
Shahbaz Sharif fell asleep
In his statement, Shahbaz Sharif said that peaceful protest is the beauty of democracy, but taking law into hands and damaging government property in the name of protest will not be allowed. According to reports, Shehbaz Sharif said that all parties should play a role to restore peace and order in PoK and the administration should open doors of dialogue to restore peace and order.
According to reports, there was a clash between the police and activists of the rights movement in the disputed area on Saturday and the entire area was cordoned off and shops were kept closed. SSP of Mirpur said that police sub-inspector Adnan Qureshi died of bullet injury in the chest in Islamgarh town. Qureshi along with other policemen were deployed there to stop the rally from Kotli and Poonch districts to Muzaffarabad.
He said that the rally was taken out under the banner of Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC). Amid the strike on Friday, violent clashes broke out between police and protesters in different areas of PoK’s capital Muzaffarabad. Eyewitnesses said that Muzaffarabad and Poonch divisions remained completely closed. The local government has called in a large number of police personnel to quell the massive protests.

SSP Yasin Baig said at least one police officer and a small boy were injured as police fired tear gas shells and fired in the air after protesters pelted stones and bottles in some areas. Kotli SSP Mir Muhammad Abid said at least 78 policemen were injured in “attacks carried out by miscreants under the guise of protest” in the district. Sources said that President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has called an emergency meeting at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday regarding the situation in the region. He said the President has directed the stakeholders to come up with proposals to resolve the issue.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) Finance Minister Abdul Majeed Khan said “the government has exercised great restraint and is ready to negotiate to resolve all contentious issues peacefully.” Processions in all districts in view of protest. Also Section 144 has been enforced in the entire area. PoK’s alleged Prime Minister Chaudhary Anwarul Haque said the government is ready to ease electricity and wheat flour prices after an officer was killed and over 70 people injured during violent protests in Mirpur.
