Liberty Airport observed 410 flights canceled on Sunday, while LaGuardia noticed 182 flights canceled. United canceled 326 flights on Sunday, when Republican Airways canceled 174. Delta Air Lines canceled 171 of its flights for Sunday, while American canceled 116.
Storms also pressured a ground halt at quite a few main airports on Sunday, which include at Liberty, JFK, LaGuardia and Atlanta, the Federal Aviation Administration explained.
In the meantime, departures to airports in the Washington, D.C., area were briefly suspended on Sunday for the reason that of a difficulty at a key air visitors command facility.
