May be punished with death
A resident of the northwestern province of North Pyongan told Radio Free Asia that many people are used to using the South Korean language. In such a situation, this decree of the dictator has become a threat to his life. They are now practicing speaking the North Korean language and getting rid of the South Korean language. They are afraid that South Korean words will accidentally come out of his mouth and he will be punished.
What words can North Koreans not use?
North Korean women cannot call themselves or their boyfriends ‘jagiya’ or ‘oppa’. The report claims that they will have to use ‘dongji’ instead. North Koreans should also avoid using South Korean words in English such as ‘paesyeon’ (fashion), ‘hyesutel’ (hairstyle) and ‘wipyu’ (wife). The report said that openly saying ‘I love you’ is also a proof that he has watched South Korean movies. In such a situation they may have to face punishment.
