The suspension has been extended this week
Earlier, Air India had shared an update on flights to Delhi and Tel Aviv on April 30. The company said that day that its Tel Aviv flights would be suspended until May 15. The company said – In view of the prevailing situation in West Asia, a decision has been taken to extend the suspension of flights to and from Tel Aviv. These flights will now be suspended till May 15, 2024. However, the company did not provide any update on when flights could resume that day.
The operation was canceled for this reason
Last month, tensions reached a peak between Iran and Israel, the two largest and most powerful countries in West Asia. Iran attacked Israel with drones and missiles. Later there were reports that Israel also attacked Iran with drones in retaliation. Air India has decided to suspend its flights to Tel Aviv following rising tensions and the possibility of war between the two countries. The company first announced on April 19 that its flights to the Israeli capital would be suspended until April 30.
