New videos surface to clearly show a fire raging in northern Crimea, just after reports of explosions all-around a armed service airfield right away.

Footage extensively circulated on social media early on Wednesday clearly show shiny flashes of light-weight and explosions, with sirens wailing in the track record. A local Telegram channel claimed “quite a few loud explosions,” beginning just in advance of 4 a.m. regional time, right before a hearth broke out.

Dzhankoy is a important armed forces hub, giving Russian troops up through Moscow-controlled southern Ukraine and the frontlines of preventing on the mainland. Russia annexed Crimea again in 2014.

Explosions and fires rocked the Dzhankoi in Russia-held Crimea night of April 17, 2024. Screengrab from a Telegram online video shows the fire raging on the airfield noticed in the distance.

Open-source intelligence accounts stated on Wednesday that Russian forces employed the airfield as a base for assault helicopters and anti-aircraft missile units. Numerous studies recommend Ukrainian forces may well have struck the facility, but Kyiv has not commented.

This is a breaking story and will be up to date shortly.
