Pope Francis Condemns Burning Of Quran: Pope Francis of Vatican City condemned the burning of the Quran in Sweden last week, saying he was angered and disgusted by the desecration of the Muslim holy book. In an interview published in the UAE newspaper Al Ittihad on Monday (July 3), the Pope was quoted as saying that those who believe in any book considered sacred to Muslims should respect it. I feel anger and disgust at such things.

Quran torn outside a mosque
A man tore a Quran outside a mosque on the occasion of Eid al-Adha in Stockholm, Sweden on Wednesday (June 28). laid and burnt. Protests erupt in Baghdad
Saudi Arabia also summoned Sweden’s ambassador on Monday (July 3) over the Koran burning. The Saudi Foreign Ministry asked Sweden to try to stop all such actions, which directly harm relations between the countries by spreading the values of tolerance, moderation and rejection of extremism. The Swedish government and the US also condemned the incident and large-scale protests erupted in Baghdad.
