Britain-based pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has taken a new step after raising questions about side effects on its vaccine. The company has said that in view of the abundance of updated vaccines available after the Corona pandemic, it has taken the initiative to withdraw its Covid-19 vaccine from around the world. The company also said it would withdraw the marketing authorization of the vaccine for Vaxjavaria in Europe.
Recently, AstraZeneca admitted that its Covid vaccine can cause side effects such as blood clots. There was an uproar around the world after this news came out.
AstraZeneca said, ‘Since many types of Covid vaccines have been developed, the number of updated vaccines available is high. Due to this, the demand for vaccinia vaccine has decreased. Due to this it is no longer manufactured or supplied. According to the Telegraph, the company’s application to withdraw the vaccine was made on March 5 and became effective on May 7.
AstraZeneca teamed up with Oxford University to develop the vaccine. Currently, the company is facing a court case, which claims that its Covid vaccine is causing death and serious bodily harm. A UK-based pharma company has joined hands with Serum Institute of India (SII), the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer, to supply vaccines to the Indian government. The Serum Institute developed a vaccine called CoviShield.
