A Moscow march by his confidant Yevgeny Prigozhin and his rebel troops in a rebellion against Russian President Putin’s authority has finally been called off. His rebel troops have been ordered back to Ukraine. At one point Prigozhin, considered Putin’s cook and confidant, and his private army rebelled and marched on Moscow. Two towns on the way were captured by Wagner’s troops. However, after the intervention of Belarusian President Lukashenko, the fires of rebellion against Putin have been extinguished. Prigozhin and his troops stop the march to Moscow. Thus, the threat to Putin’s power is now immediately averted. The Kremlin has announced that no action will be taken against the Wagner group rebels. All charges and cases against Prigogine for armed rebellion will be withdrawn. There is speculation that Prigozhin will leave the country after the deal with Putin. Prigozhin claimed that the armies of the Wagner Group had suspended the march to stop the rivers of blood flowing into Russia. The march has now been suspended, but the crisis against Putin is not yet over.
