A trainer fighter jet crashed into a river in Bangladesh’s Chattogram on Thursday. According to available information, there were 2 pilots in this plane and 1 of them has died. According to the information coming out based on the incident, there was a fire in the rear part of the aircraft. Before the plane plunged into the river, it hit a rock. According to the information, the body parts of the jet were seen breaking little by little. Along with this, the 32-year-old squadron leader Asim Jawad, who was on board the jet, died during treatment at the Navy Hospital.
Trainer fighter jet crashes
In the information that is coming out of the incident, the YAK130 trainer fighter jet of the Bangladesh Air Force came to the base after training at around 10.25 in the morning when it met with the accident. Wing Commander Sohan Hasan Khan and Squadron Leader Asim Jawad were on board the flight. He managed to get out of the jet, the pilot appeared to have parachuted out.
A committee was formed to investigate the incident
According to the information, the 2 pilots who landed in the river were rescued by the Air Force, Navy and local fishermen. Asim Jawad was rushed to hospital but could not survive during treatment. According to another source, the pilot managed to steer the plane away from a densely populated area near the airport. A special committee has also been formed to investigate the tragedy.
