Australia: Holiday visa will be given to Indians now, youth will be given two-year visa to live and work

Australia has announced several incentive schemes for Indians in its annual budget. According to the agreement made in the year 2022, now holiday visa will be started for Indians. Apart from this, Australia has started a special visa scheme for Indians. Under which 3,000 young Indian graduates who want to start their careers will be given visas to live and work in Australia. Australia is to launch a new scheme from 1 November 2024 called the Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early Professionals (MATES). Mates is the word used in Australia for friends. Under this scheme, 3,000 young people will be given two-year visas to live and work in Australia. Youths between the ages of 18 to 30 years will be eligible to get such a visa. They will be able to stay in Australia for education in specific subjects as well as skill development and work experience. The visa fee for them is 390 dollars i.e. Rs. 22,000 has been kept. There will be a $25 pre-application fee.

Agreement between the two countries in 2022

An agreement was signed between India and Australia to develop friendship and skills talents. After this agreement, Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said that this is a big agreement made by the Modi government in 8 years in which the trade with Australia is to be increased from 27.5 billion dollars i.e. 20 billion rupees to 45 to 50 billion dollars in five years.

1,000 youth of India will be given backpackers visa

In 1975, Australia granted visas to Indian youth between the ages of 18 and 30 to live and study in Australia on a temporary basis. This visa gave the right to travel and work in Australia after the completion of studies. These visas were a scapegoat for Australia. It generated income from visa fees and alleviated the shortage of young workers. Along with tourists, it began to receive workers working in agriculture and industry. Australia has now agreed to give backpackers visas to 1,000 young people from India. Which has been announced in the budget. This visa will be given on the basis of lottery.

Indian businessmen will now get five-year visas

The visa period for Indian businessmen has been increased from 3 years to 5 years. Australia grants permanent visas to stay there every year which has increased the number to 1,85,000. In which 1,32,000 visas will be given to skilled workers. Indians account for the majority of such visa holders. As of last June, there are more than 8 lakh Indians living there.
