India has objected to Myanmar. The reason is that Myanmar Chinahas approved leasing of monitoring and surveillance facilities in Cocoa Island in the Bay of Bengal. In fact, this Coco Island is strategically very important for India. If China installs its monitoring equipment on the island, it can monitor every launch from India’s Balasore Test Range in Odisha.
It is believed that India will maintain good relations under the leadership of Myanmar's current senior general, Min Aung Hlaing. However, the South Block has raised objections on the Coco Island issue and is currently not satisfied with Myanmar's response. Myanmar has responded to the objections that China has no hand behind the infrastructure construction on Coco Island. Also, monitoring stations are not being set up here.
The junta (a group of military officers) in Myanmar is wary of everything with China. Myanmar currently has no other option but to side with China. After the coup in 2021, Chinese interference has increased here. China has given nearly 4 billion US dollars in aid to Myanmar, in fact, by giving such aid, China wants to build a Bangladesh corridor through Myanmar.
China wants to maintain its dominance in the Bay of Bengal. According to national security planners and satellite images, it is clear that the developed infrastructure at Koko Gate in Myanmar is also being built with large runways that can be used for landing fighter and transport aircraft.
