10 kg of gold has gone missing from the Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu, Nepal. The revelation of this incident has created a stir. The temple complex has been closed since Sunday afternoon for investigation. The police are investigating the matter. 10 kg gold stolen from Pashupatinath temple
The CIAA is the highest constitutional body of the Government of Nepal to control corruption. The Pashupati Area Development Authority claimed that it had bought 103 kg of gold for making Jalahari but 10 kg of gold was missing from the jewellery. Ghanshyam Khatiwada, executive director of Pashupati Kshetra Vikas Trust, said that the anti-corruption body has taken over the gold-plated water table of the Pashupatinath temple to determine its quality and weight after questions were raised over the missing gold.
Ban on entry of devotees into the temple
Several security personnel, including Nepal Army personnel, have been deployed at the Pashupatinath temple for the investigation process. According to sources, the entry of devotees into the temple was prohibited from 3.30 pm and the temple remained closed till midnight.
