Matt Hasselbeck carved out an outstanding NFL job, playing from 1998 to 2015 with the Packers, Seahawks, Titans and Colts. He built three Professional Bowls as Seattle’s starting up quarterback and is in the franchise’s Ring of Honor.
On Friday, his teenage son has built a huge final decision as he appears to follow in individuals footsteps.
Henry Hasselbeck, a 3-star quarterback for Xaverian Brothers Large Faculty (Mass.), announced his commitment to Michigan State on Friday night.

Hasselbeck will become the first quarterback in Michigan State’s 2024 recruiting course. He selected the Spartans above a selection of noteworthy systems, such as his father’s alma mater Boston College or university, Pitt and Arizona.
An impressive athlete in several sports, Hasselbeck had been slated to participate in faculty lacrosse at Maryland. He dealt with the modify of coronary heart on Twitter Friday, right before his Michigan State announcement.
“I’d like to publicly thank [Maryland men’s lacrosse coach John Tillman] for his unwavering aid and the opportunity to engage in lacrosse at the University of Maryland,” Hasselbeck wrote. “A legitimate aspiration for me. “With that staying reported, I’ve made a decision to enjoy school soccer as a substitute.”
The announcement will come on what should have been a bittersweet working day for the Hasselbeck loved ones, as Matt was just one of the many on-air personalities laid off by ESPN Friday. He joined the community in 2016.
