Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner was put on the 10-day hurt record Saturday with a still left hamstring strain, but he’ll probably be out substantially longer than that.
Turner advised reporters in Philadelphia that he expects to be out for about 6 months.
If that projected timeline holds up, Turner would miss all-around 30 online games and be capable to return sometime all-around June 15.
Turner picked up the damage in the fourth inning of the Phillies’ 4–3 get over the San Francisco Giants on Friday night. Immediately after a pitch glanced off Giants catcher Tom Murphy’s glove, Turner confirmed off his amazing speed by scoring from next foundation on a passed ball. But he explained to reporters that he felt one thing in his left hamstring a handful of ways ahead of crossing household plate.
Turner was changed at shortstop by Edmundo Sosa in the best of the fifth.
It will be challenging sledding for the Phillies (22–11) without having Turner in the lineup. The 30-year-outdated is batting .343/.392/.460 with 10 doubles and 10 stolen bases in 33 game titles this year.
To consider Turner’s put on the 26-guy roster, the Phillies recalled infielder Kody Clemens from the Triple A Lehigh Valley IronPigs.
