Duke Johnson is formally hanging up the cleats.
The 30-yr-old working again declared his retirement from the NFL on social media Sunday to near out an 8-yr vocation.
“I’m formally retiring from the NFL,” Johnson wrote in an Instagram publish. “I hope I still left a larger impact on y’all that is more substantial than football.”
Johnson, who grew up in South Florida, became the Miami Hurricanes‘ all-time main rusher by racking up 3,519 yards on 526 carries about a few seasons from 2012 to ’14. He was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the third round (No. 77 decide) of the 2015 NFL draft.
Johnson performed 4 several years with the Browns, flourishing as a duo-risk functioning back. More than 4 seasons in Cleveland, he tallied 1,286 speeding yards and 2,170 obtaining yards on 534 whole touches. He signed a 3-year contract extension in 2018 but was traded to the Houston Texans forward of the 2019 year.
