White Residence Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre declared Wednesday that the forcible takeover of properties by anti-Israel protesters on American school campuses “is not peaceful” when vowing that President Biden is monitoring the simmering unrest “carefully.”
Jean-Pierre spoke as demonstrators remained holed up inside the library at Portland Point out College in Oregon and hours immediately after the NYPD arrested protesters who took around Columbia University’s Hamilton Corridor.
“We’ve been really distinct on that Us residents have the right to peacefully protest. They have a proper to peacefully protest, as extensive as it can be in the regulation. And that it is peaceful. Forcibly getting around a creating is not tranquil. It is just not,” Jean-Pierre stated.

Jean-Pierre also claimed that Biden is “not undertaking a both equally sides circumstance below” when it will come to addressing supporters of Israelis and Palestinians.

“He is checking the problem closely. So is his staff,” she added. “And I would just include that no president, no president has spoken a lot more forcefully about combating antisemitism than this president.”
Jean-Pierre said it is up to schools and universities to determine on the position that regulation enforcement will take in breaking up these protests and occupations.
