The GOP is reportedly viewing Democratic presidential prospect Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as a strategic threat against President Biden in the early levels of the nominating contest.
Through a short appearance on “The Howie Carr Show” Monday, former President Trump himself gave a relatively positive nod towards Kennedy.
“Just hold in,” Trump encouraged Kennedy. “He’s been pretty wonderful to me, I have essentially experienced a quite great relationship with him about the a long time. He’s a pretty good person, and a very good dude.”
“He’s a prevalent perception dude and so am I. So, whether or not you are conservative or liberal, prevalent sense is common sense,” Trump said of his possible rival. “A ton of what I run on is prevalent sense. He’s performing seriously well, I saw a poll, he’s at 22. That is really very good! That is fairly excellent, doing extremely nicely.”

Roger Stone, a longtime GOP operative whom Trump pardoned right after staying convicted in 2019 of obstructing a congressional investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, remarked on a podcast in April of this year that “incumbent presidents who operate for re-election but who are challenged in the primaries by a significant challenger, even however they endure, in almost each individual circumstance, they are defeated.” Stone cited what happened to Jimmy Carter when Ted Kennedy challenged him for the 1980 nomination.

“I imagine you are going to see the same thing here. I feel it will be really tough in the existing architecture of the Democratic Celebration for Robert Kennedy to beat Joe Biden. If I were being a Democrat, I’d absolutely vote for him. If I experienced any cash, I would send him a contribution, but I do not,” Stone stated in April.

“I feel he is a great American. He’s a person of huge courage,” Stone included of Kennedy. “He is taken a ton of crap from the American political institution for his outspoken and I assume helpful sights. And I consider it will assistance in the conclude soften Joe Biden up for his defeat by Donald Trump in the typical election.”
