Speaker of the Residence Mike Johnson said President Biden’s the latest threat to withhold munitions shipments to Israel was totally unpredicted and almost certainly “off script.”
Biden said in a Wednesday CNN job interview that his administration will halt munitions shipments to Israel if the country proceeds with plans to invade the metropolis of Rafah.
“My reaction truthfully was — ‘Wow, that is a finish flip from what I have been told even in, you know, modern several hours,” Johnson informed Politico in a Wednesday evening interview.

“I suggest, 24 hrs in the past it was verified to me by top rated administration officers that the policy’s extremely distinctive than what he said there,” he ongoing. “So I hope that’s a senior moment.”

Biden informed CNN’s Erin Burnett in the Wednesday interview that civilian fatalities in Gaza have provided him pause on providing weapons for the planned Rafah invasion.
“Civilians have been killed in Gaza as a consequence of these bombs and other approaches in which they go after population centers,” the president stated.

“I built it clear that if they go into Rafah — they have not absent in Rafah still — if they go into Rafah, I’m not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to offer with Rafah, to offer with the cities — that deal with that issue,” Biden said.
