California Senate prospect Rep. Adam Schiff was supplied a rude welcome to San Francisco on Thursday as he was reportedly a target of a carjacking just hours before a ritzy marketing campaign dinner.
In accordance to The San Francisco Chronicle, thieves broke into his vehicle that was parked in a downtown parking garage and stole his bags. With no business enterprise dresses to dress in, Schiff however proceeded to the party in shirt sleeves and a hiking vest, in accordance to the Chronicle, with other individuals dressed in satisfies.
At the supper, Schiff thanked attorney Joe Cotchett for supporting Schiffâs bid to change the late Dianne Feinstein and characterize California in the U.S. Senate.
“I guess itâs âWelcome to San Francisco,â” joked Cotchettâs push agent Lee Houskeeper, who was at the supper at Ristorante Rocca, positioned in Burlingame.

“Adam definitely showed himself tonight,” Cotchett explained. “Heâll be a wonderful senator â heâs heading to change the Senate tremendously.”
The apparent theft arrived just times soon after the San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan’s stability guard was assaulted in downtown San Jose Tuesday, according to KRON4, a local Bay Place news outlet.

“Even though interviewing Mayor Matt Mahan in downtown San Jose, a man was shouting at us and fought Mayor Mahan’s safety guard,”KRON4 reporter Jack Molmud wrote in a submit together with a online video of the incident. “The combat lasted a few minutes and the male was arrested by SJPD. Law enforcement mentioned they had been compiling evidence and sending it to the DA’s business office.”
The San Jose Police Section “explained the motive and situation encompassing the altercation are underneath investigation.”
