Fairfax County, Virginia, overlooked a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer request for a Honduran nationwide charged with sex crimes towards a baby in Virginia, ICE said Wednesday.
Immigration officials arrested the 30-yr-aged Honduran nationwide at his home in Bladensburg, Maryland, on April 15, immediately after Fairfax County twice unveiled him. The agency did not deliver his identity in the launch.
“This Honduran noncitizen stands accused of some quite severe crimes and represented a risk to the little ones of the Washington, D.C. place,” ICE said. “When community jurisdictions have procedures in position which prohibit them from cooperating with ICE ERO and from honoring our lawfully issued detainers and administrative warrants, they set the suspects, regulation enforcement officers, and most importantly, the customers of our area communities at risk.”
