The Division of Justice indicted Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar of Texas on conspiracy and bribery expenses Friday.
Cuellar’s wife has also been indicted in an investigation linked $600,000 in bribes they approved from an Azerbaijan-based mostly electricity business and a financial institution in Mexico to progress the former Soviet republic’s pursuits in the U.S.
Federal regulation enforcement raided Cuellar’s household and business office in 2022 as aspect of an investigation into a group of U.S. businessmen, and their ties to the country. The consultant and his office agreed to cooperate with the investigation.

Cuellar unveiled a statement on Friday subsequent studies of the future indictment, declaring equally himself and his spouse as harmless with no specifying the costs.
