Chris Hemsworth reveals why he had to downsize his impressive physique for new Netflix film Extraction 2
He’s known for his incredibly fit physique.
But Thor star Chris Hemsworth has revealed that he needed a new look for his latest Netflix action flick, Extraction 2.
The 40-year-old told his trainer he wanted ‘smaller biceps’ for his role as commando Tyler Rake in the new film.
‘Thor required mostly aesthetic body work,’ Hemsworth said in an interview with GQ magazine earlier this month.
‘Whereas for Extraction 2, far greater athleticism was needed,’ he continued.

The star’s body reshaping meant losing the bulky look, for better muscle definition to achieve an athletic physique.
He was also going for better all round fitness to maintain the energy required for the gruelling action scenes in the Extraction sequel.
After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Hemsworth’s character Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary.
This time he is tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.
The film co-stars Olga Kurylenko, Idris Elba, Golshifteh Farahani, Adam Bessa, as well as Daniel Bernhardt.

Hemsworth recently opened up starring in the upcoming action thriller and discussed the stunts that are done in the film during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
The father of three stated that the big stunts are, ‘the most detailed and exhausting fight training I’ve ever been a part of.’
He further explained that, ‘We sort of went for the moon. In a very crowded world of action, I think we did something that’s very unique.’
The first Extraction became a hit on Netflix and within only four weeks of its release, raked in a whopping total of around 99 million viewers. Sam Hargrave directed both the first film and the sequel.
