Ne-Yo, born Shaffer Smith, married Crystal Renay Williams in 2016, as they were expecting their first child.
The pair seemed to be going their seperate ways in 2020, but the Covid pandemic, and being locked inside together, led to them smoothing things over.
They renewed their their vows in 2022 but Renay refiled for divorce soon after.

Who is Crystal Renay?
Crystal Renay, 37, is a former reality TV star and model.
She starred in reality shows About The Business, in 2016, and The Platinum Life, in 2017.
She met Ne-Yo in 2015 when she was auditioning for a part in a music video for one of the songs on Ne-Yo’s album, Non-Fiction.
Although they initially met in a business setting, their conversation became more personal, and the two started dating two weeks after their first exchange.
How long were Ne-Yo and Crystal Renay together?
After less than a year of dating, Ne-Yo and Renay were engaged, and expecting their first child, as Ne-Yo confirmed with a tweet in August 2015.
The wedding followed in Los Angeles in February 2016, shortly before the birth of their first child – Shaffer Chimere Jr.
In March 2020, Ne-Yo filed for divorce, but the Covid pandemic closely followed and they were brought back closer together by quarantine.
Ne-Yo made amends and proposed for a second time on the eve of 2021.
The then renewed their vows 10 months later in April 2022, in a Las Vegas ceremony.
But three months later Renay accused Ne-Yo of being unfaithful, and filed for divorce the following month claiming that he had fathered a child outside of their marriage.
The divorce was finalised on January 26 2023.
How many children do they have together?
Two years after their first child was born, in 2018, they had another son – Roman Alexander-Raj – in stressful circumstances, with doctors required to operate on Renay to get Roman born.
Six months after Ne-Yo proposed for the second time, he and Renay had their third child in June – a daughter called Isabella.
Renay wrote on Instagram that ‘my world is finally complete,’ after the birth.
Ne-Yo also has two older children with his former partner Monyetta Shaw, and two younger children – born in 2021 and 2023 – with Sade, the person with whom he had cheated on Renay.
