Which Married At First Sight stars are still friends and who are enemies? Inside the close bonds and relationships turned sour among the 2024 cast as dramatic series ends

Married At First Sight Australia producers didn’t fail to bring the drama to TV screens this year.

As well as romances blossoming and explosive break-ups rocking the group, friendships were also formed while other cast members butted heads in raging rows.

Lauren Dunn and Jack Dunkley were famously at loggerheads on the Channel Nine program, while Timothy Smith and Tristan Black formed a very unlikely friendship.

The reunion episode on Sunday night is set to be explosive as the cast reunite to dish the dirt once again, months after filming wrapped last year.

Ahead of the finale, Daily Mail Australia takes a look at which friendships have stood the test of time and those which have soured after the cameras were turned off.

TIMOTHY SMITH AND ANDREA THOMPSON

Andrea and Timothy were rumoured to be dating after spending time together as friends this week.

Andrea left the series after calling time on her romance with Richard Sauerman, while Timothy and Lucinda Light also ended their relationship in the show’s final days.

This week, Andrea, 51, raised eyebrows after posting a video of Timothy appearing to enjoy a sleepover at her house, sparking romance rumours – which she has denied.

In the clip, Andrea was seen watching Tori Adams and Jack Dunkley’s final vows with her daughter, before turning the camera around to show Timothy asleep on the couch.

‘We’re watching Jack and Tori’s final vows, Indi and I,’ she said in the video. ‘With Timmy. And he’s so into it he’s fallen asleep. He’s that bored.’

The pair were also pictured going shopping on Chapel St in Melbourne last week in an image obtained by Yahoo.

However, Andrea has since denied the pair are dating, telling New Idea they are simply ‘beautiful friends’.

‘There’s nothing romantic there,’ she insisted. ‘I adore him, and he adores me. He’s been a rock to me at times.’

She said the ‘best part of the experiment’ for her was the lifelong friends she’s made, including with Timothy’s ex Lucinda.

EDEN HARPER AND LAUREN DUNN  

The pair became friendly on the show, however they was recent tension when Lauren enjoyed a cosy night out with Eden’s partner Jayden Eynaud.

The drama unfolded in a glittering nightclub in Sydney last week, where the former co-stars were seen looking very cosy as they hugged while Jayden went shirtless.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday, Eden didn’t hold back as she claimed it felt ‘a bit intentional’ from Lauren to hurt her feelings in a sign that their bond may have hit the rocks.

Slamming their actions as a blatant disregard for her feelings, she said: ‘I think both of their behaviour on that night was quite disrespectful of me.

‘It felt almost a little bit intentional from Lauren’s half to hurt my feelings, and maybe Jayden as well.’

She labelled their behaviour as ‘inappropriate and a bit trashy’ as she shared her disapproval for their cosy antics.

Eden recounted: ‘I think that the second that I wasn’t there for her to be all over him and there’s a clip where she grabs his hand and puts it on her chest and stuff like that.’

However, Lauren Dunn was swift to mount a defence for her controversial behaviour, painting a picture of a night filled with fun that unfortunately went too far.

She recounted inviting Eden to join the afterparty, only to be turned down, leading to the wild escapade that ensued.

‘We went to Oxford Street and we’re all dancing on this podium with fans and surrounded by, you know, we’re in a gay club and it was awesome,’ Lauren reminisced, seemingly unfazed by the uproar.

Claiming her actions were more cheeky than malicious, Lauren admitted to playing up for the cameras, fully aware of the spotlight on her.

EDEN HARPER, SARA MESA AND LAUREN DUNN

Eden and Sara’s relationship became strained on the show amid the former’s infamous ‘cheating scandal’.

Scenes saw Eden reveal text messages between herself and Sara, in which the she disclosed a ‘secret’ meet-up with her ex, leaving her groom Tim Calwell upset.

It is not known if they have mended their friendship, though Sara and Lauren have been spotted out without Eden on numerous outings.

Lauren recently expressed her discomfort with how the ‘cheating’ situation was handled, particularly by Eden, who was caught between a rock and a hard place.

‘I really don’t feel like she really wanted to do it in that way and I think that’s what was making her so anxious at the retreat,’ Lauren said.

Despite the scandal, Lauren made it clear her relationship with Eden remained intact. 

‘Eden and I definitely had a friendship, and we continue to have a friendship,’ she revealed.

‘It definitely didn’t ruin the friendship. I was just disappointed with how it was it came out.’

Though the trio haven’t been seen out together, Lauren and Sara appear to still be very close and have been spending a lot of time together in recent weeks.

The close friends arrived to film the pre-recorded MAFS reunion dinner party together, looking glamorous as they strutted their stuff into the venue.

The friends have also been seen out for lunches and nights out together as they have proven their friendship has stood the test of time.

Though she has not been seen out with her former best pals, Eden has been spotted with Cassandra Allen as they have formed a bond since the show. 

TRISTAN BLACK AND TIMOTHY SMITH

One very unlikely friendship which formed during filming was between Tristan, 30, and Timothy, 51.

The pair forged an adorable father-son bond during their weeks on the show, with Timothy passionately flocking to Tristan’s aid in trying moments as he tried to make things work with bride Cassandra Allen.

Timothy even gifted Tristan a matching Byron Bay hoodie during the couple’s retreat as they won fans over with their sweet friendship.

And the pals have proven that their bond is as strong as ever as they have been seen hanging out in recent weeks.

In one outing, they enjoyed a meal out with former MAFS stars Jackson Lonie and Cody Bromley at Bill and Toni’s in Darlinghurst last month.

TRISTAN BLACK AND JACK DUNKLEY

Tristan was left upset during MAFS when villain Jack called him a ‘whale’ at the Byron Bay couples’ retreat in shocking scenes.

However, the pair were later seen looking friendly in photographs shared online.

Tristan has since revealed whether they are still friends as he admitted he didn’t know where he stood with the groom after watching the scenes in full on TV.

‘I don’t know where I stand right now because he was actually helping me train a little bit now as well, but now, once I’ve seen everything…’ he told Daily Mail Australia. 

‘I’m just a bit like, ‘I don’t know if you actually really care about me, or anything like that, maybe, I’ve learned to myself I’m a bit naïve, and I’ve maybe got to look at some things a bit differently’.

‘Look to be honest with the whale comment, I mean that was really big sting… I just wanted to move on from it quite quick, because I just don’t want to keep on hyping it up.

‘I was more really just wanting to focus on my relationship with Cass, because at the end of the day, it’s not freaking ”Married to Jack”, it’s ”Married to Cass” – I don’t really want to waste time talking about that dude.’ 

TORI ADAMS AND LAUREN DUNN 

Tori and Lauren formed an incredibly close bond within minutes of meeting on the show, however their friendship later hit the rocks in a shock twist.

The pair’s friendship came under strain when Tori’s groom Jack made an infamous remark about putting a ‘muzzle’ on Lauren, sparking outrage from their co-stars.

Lauren repeatedly voiced her concerns about Tori’s romance with Jack, but her friend didn’t want to hear it as they repeatedly became embroiled in dinner party drama.

In a final dinner party showdown, the pair’s friendship appeared to implode after the group accused Jack and Tori of lying about sleeping together to take the heat off them.

Tori turned against the group and insisted none of them – not even her ex-best pal Lauren – were her friends and said she had no plans to see them after the experiment.

She raged: ‘After this, no one at this table – maybe you [Lauren] at the beginning – I would want to spend time with after this experiment. None of you, none!’

A visibly hurt Lauren said to camera: ‘I can’t believe she would say something that cruel. My friendship with Tori is fractured.’ 

The pair have not been spotted out together since filming wrapped, potentially hinting that their friendship became unfixable after the blow-up.

It is not known if Tori is still in contact any of her 2024 castmates, though she and Jack have been seen spending time with controversial MAFS alums Jason Engler, Dan Hunjas, Bryce Ruthven and Daniel Holmes.

CASSANDRA ALLEN AND LUCINDA LIGHT

Lucinda has made her adoration for her castmate Cassandra very clear as her Instagram feed is littered with pictures of them both.

She has frequently posted smiling snaps of them from both on and off camera and praised her ‘gorgeous’ friend in an array of posts.

Proving they are as close as ever, Lucinda recently paid tribute to Cassandra in a lengthy post as she shared a gallery of snaps of them hanging out.

She gushed in a caption: ‘A moment to honour the exquisite beauty inside and out that is our divine Cassandra. Cass, how dare you be so gorgeous!

‘You, my darling, are pure sunshine and I’m so proud to call you a friend. I’m inspired by your wonderful soul essence.

‘Never stop being the classy, sassy, wisdom-keepin cool cat that you are! Your big heart & authenticity reverberates right across the lands. Love you so much.’

TIMOTHY SMITH AND LUCINDA LIGHT

Despite their romance not working out, Timothy and Lucinda have maintained a close friendship ever since the cameras stopped rolling.

The former on-screen couple were recently seen looking thrilled to be in each other’s company as they grinned for the cameras at the MAFS reunion show.

They have also been seen heading on nights out together, while Lucinda recently gushed over how ‘glad’ she is to have Timothy as a ‘dear friend’.

Sharing a behind the scenes snap of them together, Lucinda wrote in an Instagram post after they both left the show: ‘Love you Timbo. Soul family!

‘What a farewell…being cheeky little knobs, ripping our names off the door that was the portal into ‘that version of us’. Here’s cheers to the future version of ‘us’ as dear friends. 

‘So glad I’ve got a Timbo in my stratosphere and sorry for any times on this experience I hurt you. I see you & you’re awesome!’

JONO MCCULLOUGH AND JAYDEN EYNAUD 

Jono has remained close with Eden and Jayden since they all met on the Channel Nine program.

In recent weeks, he was spotted spending the day by the sea with the couple as they sunbathed and caught up.

Jono – who is set to reveal his romance with Ellie Dix at Sunday’s upcoming reunion show – was seen chatting with Jayden and Eden as they all enjoyed a dip in the ocean. 

Jono has also maintained a friendship with Stephen Stewart, who had an ill-fated ‘marriage’ with Michael Felix on MAFS.

Stephen recently criticised Jono’s edit on the series as he showed support for his friend and insisted he was more vocal at the dinner parties than it seemed.

He told Yahoo!: ‘Jono has copped a very different edit. And just in the sense that – like I was saying – removing context is such a big part. So everyone I’ve spoken to about Jono think he’s a very meek, quiet person. 

‘But he was probably one of the most vocal males at those dinner parties. He was very opinionated. 

‘He was very calm with addressing his opinions. So yeah, the poor guy’s lost a whole portion of his personality.’
