After 30 years on screen they are considered the kings of British television.
But when it comes to real royal matters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have been snubbed as they were written out of King Charles‘s Coronation scroll – despite attending the event last year.
The presenting duo were not the only feature missing, as a dot on an ‘i’ was forgotten at the very end of the 11,500-word document – the only mistake made on the entire 69ft manuscript.
Part of a 700-year tradition, the 21-metre scroll records the ceremonies, processions and who was there in the Abbey to witness the Coronation.
But when the document is lodged in the National Archives there will be no record of Ant or Dec, both 48, and the Cabinet Office has been contacted for comment on the matter.

Also missed off the list are the American pop stars Lionel Richie, a longtime friend of the King, and Katy Perry who performed at the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle.
Instead, they have all been reduced to the catch-all heading of ‘Other groups’.
There were around 2,300 guests invited to the Abbey including world leaders, politicians, foreign royalty, everyday heroes and celebrities including Dame Emma Thompson and Stephen Fry.
As goodwill ambassadors for the Princes Trust, Ant and Dec interrupted presenting for last year’s I’m A Celebrity to attend the prestigious event.
The Geordie duo have hosted the King’s Charity Awards 10 times and are involved in a programme to make the media industry more accessible.

Calligrapher Stephanie von Werthern-Gill focused for 56 consecutive days on her copperplate handwriting of the 11,500-word document, using classical music and breathing exercises to remain calm.
But the Britain’s Got Talent presenters were left off the history books, much to the outrage of fans.
One person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, ‘Can’t believe they missed Ant and Dec off the Coronation Rolle.
‘Surely that’s the kind of social history that future generations will want to know.’
