Bella Thomson, the 10-year-old TikTok star known as Bella Brave, has died.
Her mother, Kyla Thomson, confirmed Monday that Bella died “peacefully” on Sunday.
“Our brave girl left her legacy here on earth to dance on streets of gold July 14th 2024 at 4:19 p.m. ET,” Kyla wrote on TikTok alongside a video of Bella dancing to “Never Enough” from “The Greatest Showman.”
Bella passed peacefully in our arms,” she continued. “Please keep her name on your lips, her memories alive and her bravery in your hearts. Please share with us every detail of how she touched your life or kept you brave.”
“Bella would want you to remember; God is love, be brave and you are never too old to bring a stuffy,” Kyla added.
Bella’s mom also remembered the social media star in a statement to PEOPLE.
“Everything is hard without her,” Kyla said. “Please help me let the world know I need them to share with us how Bella touched their lives, helped them or how she lives on in their hearts & lives. Don’t ever stop sharing her love and light. Don’t let her memory ever fade. Continue to be brave, be closer to God and love each other fiercely, for her. Though she be but little, she is fierce.”
Bella faced various health issues including a form of dwarfism, the rare bowel illness called Hirschsprung’s Disease, and SCID (severe combined immunodeficiency).
Kyla documented her daughter’s extended stays in the hospital on her TikTok, where she has over 7 million followers.
Last week, Bella was placed in a medically induced coma at SickKids Hospital in Toronto after suffering complications from a lung infection.
“We are not out of the woods. We are, of course, gutted for Bella,” Kyla told PEOPLE on July 11. “Her bowel transplant last August was supposed to be the last medical trauma she would ever have to endure.
Kyla gave an update on Bella’s health in the days leading up to her death.
“Bella is stable & intubated in the ICU,” Kyla wrote last Tuesday. “They’ve told us they don’t know if she’ll survive this. I know she will. I know she has an army praying for her.”
In a TikTok on Saturday, Kyla said, “She’s sedated, intubated, in a medically induced coma. I am not losing my hope. I don’t know which way things are going to go. We still need your prayer and all the love. I will try to update as best I can. For now, she is still with us and she is still fighting.”
Ryan Reynolds visited Bella in the hospital in December after her bowel transplant surgery. One of the videos of Bella with the “Deadpool” actor got over 3 million likes on TikTok.
Reynolds, 47, asked Bella if it’s “scary” or “exciting” for her whens he goes into a surgery.
“Meh,” Bella responded.
“Meh, I like that attitude,” Reynolds told her.
Bella is survived by her mom, dad Lyle, and younger brother Waylon.
