Sarah Ferguson is the proud caretaker of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s beloved corgis.
“I have 7 dogs and two of them are corgis [and] five of them are Norfolk terriers. They are all undertaking quite nicely,” the Duchess of York, 64, solely instructed Us Weekly on Wednesday, May possibly 1, at the Global Citizen Prize Awards in New York Town. “They’re all really attractive and pretty, really loved!”
Ferguson, who was beforehand married to Elizabeth’s son Prince Andrew, has five pups of her individual. After the queen died in September 2022, Ferguson took in the monarch’s corgis, Muick and Sandy, with her canines wanting after them.
“They do all get on with just about every other,” Ferguson gushed to Us, detailing how she usually takes treatment of the animals. “It’s very a large amount of work, but it is work I enjoy. I have lots of dog men and women about me who also appreciate them and really like to choose care of them, so I can share and I do share.”
Elizabeth, who died at the age of 96, owned lots of corgis in her life span. Muick and Sandy, especially, experienced been gifted by Ferguson and Andrew, 64. Ferguson has often spoken out about the honor of getting in the queen’s pets.

In addition to having treatment of the royal canines, Ferguson remains passionate about philanthropy — even further showing off that passion at Wednesday’s awards ceremony.
“It came from my grandmother in 1992,” the duchess told Us. “She mentioned, ‘When you feel negative about your self, give to others.’ So I went, took myself to the most polluted space in Poland in 1992 … and when I got there I understood it’s the most polluted region [in] Europe. I took the youngsters out of the polluted place and 28 days of clear air gave [them] two decades of lifestyle. So, I observed firsthand how you can make modify.”
Ferguson ongoing, “[Those children] consider numerous methods. They really do not get overwhelmed. They never assume it’s so huge, they just cannot discuss about it. They just go, ‘OK, what if we do a thing to help?’ At the very least we are undertaking a thing. Never get overwhelmed due to the fact otherwise you get frightened and then you give up.”
