Beloved amusement journalist Sam Rubin died on Friday. He was 64.
Rubin reportedly endured a coronary heart assault at his house, for each TMZ. He was transported to UCLA West Hills by ambulance at the time.
In accordance to Variety, the incident happened right after he conducted his standard Hollywood information segments on KTLA’s 7-9 a.m. “Morning News” method on Friday.
KTLA confirmed his loss of life in a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter).
“KTLA 5 is profoundly saddened to report the demise of Sam Rubin. Sam was a big in the regional information industry and the amusement earth, and a fixture of Los Angeles early morning television for a long time,” the assertion study. “His laugh, attraction and caring identity touched all who realized him. Sam was a loving husband and father: the roles he cherished the most. Our thoughts are with Sam’s loved ones all through this complicated time.”
Rubin, a graduate of LA’s Occidental Faculty, joined KTLA in 1991. He was a staple on pink carpets via the years, and hosted the station’s “Live From the Academy Awards” phase. Exterior Hollywood, he appeared on BBC’s Tv set and radio segments and Channel 9 in Australia.
Some of the A-listers he’s interviewed include things like Zendaya, Mariah Carey, Sting, Usher and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
He was also a single of the founding customers of the Broadcast Movie Critics’ Association and led his personal clearly show, “Hollywood Uncensored with Sam Rubin,” for 120 episodes.
Rubin gained quite a few accolades during his career. He was also honored by the Countrywide Hispanic Media Coalition in 2013, getting its once-a-year Impact Award for superb integrity in broadcast journalism.
Also, he was a recipient of a Golden Mic award, a life time accomplishment award from the Southern California Broadcasters Affiliation, and was named the finest entertainment reporter by the Los Angeles Push Club.
Rubin is survived by his wife, Leslie, and their four children.
