Sam Burgess opens up about proposing to pregnant girlfriend Lucy Graham during romantic babymoon in Fiji: ‘I was very nervous’
Sam Burgess and Lucy Graham are expecting their first baby together in just a couple months.
And while on their babymoon in Fiji last week, their holiday was made even more romantic when Sam got down on one knee and proposed.
The NRL star, 34, has now revealed that he was extremely nervous when he asked the Leeds hairdresser, 33, to marry him.
Appearing on Channel 7’s Sunrise on Friday, Sam was asked how he proposed to Lucy, and how he got on.
While he kept the details private, he said: ‘I was very nervous actually, I dropped the ball so to speak, it was a great day, a great time away, we are both very happy.’

Last Sunday, Lucy was seen wearing a huge diamond ring on her left wedding figure as the couple arrived home in Sydney.
The bride-to-be then shared the news on her Instagram account on Tuesday.
She posted a carousel of photos from their lavish holiday with the caption: ‘Saaaaa cute’.
In the first snap, the hairdresser was smiling widely next to her fiancé as she showed off her ring.
On Thursday, Lucy then shared another selfie as she flaunted her new rock, with the caption: ‘Just me making sure that I get my left hand into every single photo that I possibly can’.

Sam is said to have told his family and Rabbitohs co-workers about his plans to pop the question before the couple left for the trip, according to the Courier Mail.

They announced the news in March just five months after going public with their relationship.
Sam, who is now an NRL coach, already shares two older children, Poppy, four, and Billy, three, with his ex-wife Phoebe Burgess (née Hooke).
Lucy recently made the decision to move Down Under from the UK permanently and it’s believed her pregnancy was the reason.
Sam, who was born in West Yorkshire, England, has known Lucy for about 20 years.
Her identity was revealed in October last year, after he took her as his date to the premiere of Russell Crowe’s film Poker Face in Rome.
Lucy is also a co-founder of the sustainable fashion label Sentenced, which launched in September 2019.
