When singer and actress Rita Ora met beauty entrepreneur Anna Lahey, it was the start of a lifelong friendship and a game-changing hair care brand. “We bonded through our hair loss journeys, and we are both obsessed with hair,” Lahey tells PS. As Ora and Lahey’s friendship grew, so did the idea for Typebea, a product line featuring shampoo, conditioner, serums, and more. The name of the brand represents “different hair types and different personalities, like type A versus type B personalities,” Lahey says. “Just the play of words really, and understanding that it’s available for so many different types of hair, regardless of how you maintain it, which is really important to us,” Ora adds.
Both Ora and Lahey want people to view their hair care routines like skin-care routines, or as they say, the skinification of hair. The line consists of ingredients that nourish the hair and promote scalp health, like hyaluronic acid and salicylic acid, as well as the brand’s hero ingredient, Bacapil. It is clinically proven to promote hair growth and reduce hair loss by 60 percent within the first three months, according to Lahey. Along with choosing the right ingredients, Ora says, it’s important “to be consistent with your products to see results.”
Beyond their hair care line, Ora and Lahey shared their current must-have products with PS. Ahead, read about their love for Slip’s silk products, Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream, and more.
