Never mind the posh frocks… Now it’s Phoebe Waller-Rotten! Fleabag creator dons outfit similar to Sex Pistols garb
Whoever would have thought that the impeccably posh Phoebe Waller-Bridge – the descendant of two baronets – would have anything in common with punk star Johnny Rotten?
But it appears that they have very similar taste in fashion, with the Fleabag creator being spotted last week in a black outfit with plenty of zips, similar to the sort that the Sex Pistols frontman wore in his wild 1970s heyday.
It’s likely that Ms Waller-Bridge’s version was a lot more expensive – her all-in-one, called the Bauhaus, was made by Californian fashion designer Rick Owens and is currently available for £1,285.
Zips, along with safety pins and chains, were an essential part of the punk look and Rotten – real name John Lydon – was pictured in a very similar outfit in the 1970s. Clash frontman Joe Strummer also wore a near-identical jacket in photoshoots.
Ms Waller-Bridge wore the outfit as she dined at London celebrity haunt The Ivy with her director partner Martin McDonagh. She teamed her jumpsuit with a pair of burnt orange Adidas Gazelle trainers which cost £100.

But if her look is punk, the 37-year-old star’s musical tastes are a little more mainstream.
She is a big fan of Harry Styles and has spoken of being inspired by Jennifer Lopez.
Ms Waller-Bridge’s black jumpsuits have attracted attention in the past.
During the opening episode of the second series of Fleabag, she wore a £50 black halterneck keyhole jumpsuit with wide leg trousers from fashion brand Love, which sold out almost immediately.

Ms Waller-Bridge plays his goddaughter Helena Shaw, with Mads Mikkelsen playing villain Jurgen Voller, an ex-Nazi who now works for Nasa, and Toby Jones as Basil Shaw, an ally of Jones.
She has said her journey from Fleabag, which started as a fringe theatre show, to Hollywood blockbuster has been ‘surreal’ but said: ‘There’s room for a slightly clumsier, bruised, limping female action star.’
