- Cleopatra Dues claims the singer attacked her without warning
- She filed a police report on March 29, the day after the alleged attack
- Mariah the Scientist, 26, was charged with battery on Wednesday and released
The singer Mariah the Scientist was arrested in Atlanta in relation to an altercation at a local bar.
The 26-year-old musician was booked on Wednesday night after a woman claimed that she had assaulted her without explanation, according to a Fulton County police report obtained by TMZ.
The singer was booked on battery but paid her bond and was released the same day.
Back on March 29, a woman named Cleopatra Dues visited Atlanta’s Zone 2 precinct and claimed that she had been attacked by Mariah the Scientist (real name: Mariah Buckles) on the previous evening.
According to Dues, she had been at Atlanta’s Cavo Kitchen and Cocktail bar and restaurant when Mariah the Scientist allegedly grabbed her and proceeded to pull her wig off her head without any explanation.
The singer Mariah the Scientist was arrested and booked on Wednesday for battery for allegedly attacking a woman on March 28 at Cavo Kitchen and Cocktail in Atlanta; seen in LA on March 16
She claims that the singer then dragged her across the table and onto the ground.
The shocking attack allegedly left Dues with injuries on the lower portion of her body.
Dues says she left the bar, though it’s unclear how long she stayed there.
Once out of the area, she called 911 to report the attack.
The attack was captured on video by a bystander in the bar and obtained by the publication, but the low lighting and grainy video quality make it difficult to determine if the attacker is in fact Mariah the Scientist.
The woman who appears to be the aggressor is scene wearing what looks like a white hoodie in the video.
According to the police report, Dues wants to press charges against her attacker.
She’s also seeking any security camera footage that the bar may have from March 28, which might clarify the identity of the attacker.
However, it’s unclear how valid an identification from Dues would be, as she admitted that she was not wearing her glasses at the time of the incident and said she didn’t get a good view of the woman attacking her.
Nevertheless, she later identified Mariah the Scientist as her allegedly attacker.
According to Dues, she didn’t have any interactions with the singer or anyone who was allegedly with her that night, and she claims to have no idea what led to brawl.

She claims to have no idea what led to the alleged altercation, and she said she had no contact with the singer or her friends earlier in the evening; seen March 16 in LA

The video of the attack appears to have circulated on social media before news of Dues’ police report, and the Staten Island rapper Cleotrapa was at first identified as the victim.
However, she appears to have been misidentified simply because her stage name was similar to Dues’ first name.
‘LMFAOOOOOO yall really don’t know my résumé,’ Cleotrapa wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on the night of the altercation, before Dues had even gone to the police precinct.
‘I will never be on camera fighting anyone! Just register that. I’ve worked with so many brands like stop playing with my name fr.’
