Personal protection officers subtly signaled to their team that the royals were to immediately leave the premises.
The perceived threat is believed to have been a drone, however reports remain unconfirmed.
Itās understood that members of the public were unaware of any drama.
The Post has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.
Matt Taylor, founder of Jersey Sea Salt, was speaking to the King when their conversation was abruptly cut short.
āHe stopped at the stall and said āOoh sea saltā and I said āCome and have a chat, Sir.ā Then his security appeared and grabbed me and said āHe has to go, now,’ā Taylor told the Telegraph.
āHe didnāt seem panicked but he was quite stern. They just ushered him out. Itās a shame as heād stopped to chat to us of his own accord.ā
Itās understood that every precaution was taken after the coupleās security team discovered a āsmall issue of concern.ā
A full background check was carried out and the King and Queen resumed their engagement shortly after it was safe for them to do so.
The false alarm came just days after a would-be assassin shot at former President Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania campaign rally over the weekend.
A sniper had managed to climb onto the roof of a manufacturing plantĀ 130 yards awayĀ from where Trump was speaking and opened fire on the Republican nominee.
Trump was hit in the ear, two attendees were critically injured and one was killed by the would-be assassin. Secret Service agentsĀ killed the gunman.
Former BBC Royal Correspondent Michael Cole told GB News there was a āheightened sense of security concernā for the King and Queen following Trumpās harrowing ordeal.
āIām sure thereās a sort of heightened sense of security concern because of events in America, which we know about from Saturday night,ā he told the outlet.
āBut what stands out for me is the coolness of the Queen. She was eating an ice cream at the time, one of her aides whispered in her ear that there was a security concern, and she was taken away with the King to a nearby hotel.ā
āShe continued eating her ice cream, so rather like Drake before the Armada, she concentrated on the important things first,ā he added.
