Deadline stories that Netflix has obtained the scripted series Calabasas from executive producers Kim Kardashian, Emma Roberts, and I. Marlene King. The job is Kardashian’s hottest foray into movie and television soon after starring in the most modern season of American Horror Tale with Roberts. She’s also given that signed on to star in the upcoming Paula Pell-penned comedy The Fifth Wheel for Netflix, as effectively as a legal drama sequence for Hulu from Ryan Murphy. King, who made Fairly Minor Liars, is set to produce and serve as showrunner for Calabasas.
The series is based on Via Bleidner’s 2021 e-book If You Lived Below You’d Be Popular By Now, a selection of essays about her practical experience transferring from a non-public Catholic school to Calabasas Higher. Published when Bleidner was 21 decades previous, the essays chronicle the culture shock of coming of age in the L.A. suburb identified for its Kardashian relationship, with the book’s synopsis referencing stories like “Kim Kardashian endorsing the students’ most loved concealed lunch spot” and “Kanye seeking to consider control of your university to make it the pretty to start with YEEZY establishment.” So it appears like if Kardashian would like to increase the present to her performing résumé, she’ll have to enjoy herself.
