Keke Palmer and SZA are teaming up to star in a new buddy comedy created by Issa Rae for TriStar Photographs, Deadline reports. The untitled movie is set to be directed by Lawrence Lamont, a director on Rae’s Max collection Rap Sh!t, from a script penned by Rap Sh!t showrunner Syreeta Singleton. Palmer will also govt generate the film, which will mark SZA’s acting debut. “I Simply cannot Wait,” Palmer wrote in an Instagram post confirming the news. The duo were formerly paired up back in December of 2022, when the Nope star hosted Saturday Evening Live with SZA as musical visitor. Plot specifics for the movie continue to be beneath wraps, but most likely they’ll be teaming up to quit a risky, runaway metra practice. This is just the newest challenge for the constantly-operating Palmer, who is also established to star in Aziz Ansari’s Excellent Fortune, the Eddie Murphy heist film The Pickup, David O. Russel’s Tremendous Toys, and the rom-com The Backup.
