Jen approves of the other Jen in Ben’s life.
Amid buzz of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s marital problems, the “Fargo” actor’s ex wife, Jennifer Garner, is rooting for the couple to stay together in light of his past struggles with substance abuse.
“We all know that if Ben falls off the wagon, Jennifer [Garner] will have to pick up the pieces — she always does,” a source told Paula Froelich of NewsNation.
However, despite Garner’s support, the “Jenny from the Block” singer isn’t a fan of her hubby’s ex.
“Lopez is not particularly fond of Garner — and the two, while distantly friendly, do not speak,” Froelich previously reported.
The “13 Going on 30” actress, who was married to Affleck, 51, from 2005 to 2018 and shares three children — Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, — with him, is “encouraging Ben to work on his marriage to Jen,” and “fully supports their relationship and wants nothing more than for him to be happy,” a source told Us Weekly last week.
Garner, 52, is focusing on the well-being of Affleck, who was in rehab multiple times, and their kids.
“She wants him happy and healthy so he can be the best dad possible,” a source told People this week.
Lopez and Affleck were most recently seen together at Violet’s high school graduation party on Thursday.
However, they didn’t stay long, and quickly bolted from the soirée, which was at Garner’s house, after only one hour.
The pair then got into a car together and traveled to the mansion Affleck is reportedly renting since he moved out of their shared abode.
Lopez left an hour after she arrived.
Affleck seems to already have his mind made up regarding his doomed union with Lopez, 54.
Last week, a source told Page Six that Affleck has “come to his senses” about his relationship to the Bronx native and knows they will eventually call it quits.
“If there was a way to divorce on grounds of temporary insanity, he would,” the source said. “He feels like the last two years was just a fever dream, and he’s come to his senses now and understands there is just no way this is going to work.”
