Live from Lincoln Center, itâs Broadwayâs biggest night (of 2024, at least)!
The 77th Annual Tony Awards, which recognize excellence in Broadway theater, are set to begin in just a few hours.
The 2023-24 Broadway season was the most musical-heavy one in at least five years, with 21 musicals (16 new, 5 revival) opening between May 2023 and April 2024, but itâs a play that made history as nominations were announced.

âStereophonicâ by David Adjmi, about a fictional band facing pressure as they record their second album, became the most nominated play in the Tonysâ 77-year history with 13 nominations, including 5 acting nominations and nods in two categories that traditionally recognize musicals rather than plays. Alicia Keysâ semi-autobiographical musical âHellâs Kitchenâ tied âStereophonicâ for most nominations of the season, also netting 13.
Itâs sure to be a star studded evening, with appearances by Jennifer Hudson, Angelina Jolie, and Jeffrey Wright and performances by the casts of nominated shows, including Eddie Redmayne in âCabaret at the Kit Kat Klubâ and Daniel Radcliffe in âMerrily We Roll Along.â
Though the Tony Awards air on CBS, itâs possible to stream the entire event for free without cable. Keep reading for your Tony Awards cheat sheet, including all of that free streaming info and more on nominees, performers, and presenters.
