Goldie Hawn revealed that she and Kurt Russell experienced two home invasions at their LA home, just four months apart from each other.
Hawn, 78, recapped the events with Kelly Ripa, noting that she and Russell, 73, were out at a dinner when the first incident occurred.
“We came back and then went in the house, and I saw this thing was on like, ‘Mutiny on the Bounty.’ I can’t believe I remember what I was watching, but anyway, I said, ‘I think I’m gonna go to bed,’” the actress said on a new episode of “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” on SiriusXM.
The “Snatched” actress said that when she went to her room to get ready for bed, she lost it.
“They had broken in from the balcony to our bedroom, our closets, and they completely knocked down my door, which was a safe door, so they’re very, very sophisticated,” she told Ripa. “They got a lot of my goodies if you know what I mean. So I’m thinking, ‘Oh my god. Well, the chances are, I guess that’s it.’”
Hawn, who starred in the 1987 movie “Overboard” with Russell, believed that the first invasion would be the last, but was shortly proven wrong four months later.
During the second home invasion, she was with their dog when she heard a loud thump from above.
“It was just like…was that a sonic boom?” Hawn recounted. “Did somebody jump somewhere? As it turned out, the next day we discovered that they were trying to get in my bedroom while I was in the house.”
When Ripa, 53, asked the “Housesitter” star if she had guards, she said, “I’ve had a guard especially when I’m alone now.”
Hawn and Russell have been together since 1984, but never got married.
In July 2023, Hawn said they’ve both seen the fallout of an unsuccessful marriage during an interview with CNN’s Chris Wallace.
“It’s always ugly,” the actress shared at the time. “Somebody actually has to take a look and say, ‘How many divorces actually are fun? How many divorces actually don’t cost money? How many divorces actually make you hate the person more than you did before? How many divorces have hurt children?’”
Hawn was previously married to actor Gus Trikonis from 1969 until 1976, and later to musician Bill Hudson from 1976 until 1982. She and Hudson are parents of actors Kate and Oliver Hudson.
For his part, Russell was previously married to actress Season Hubley from 1979 until 1983. They share a son, Boston, 44.
Despite never tying the knot, the couple welcomed their son, Wyatt Russell, in 1986.
“I mean relationships are hard,” Hawn told Wallace. “They’re not always easy. There’s all kinds of hurdles we go through. There’s things that we believe in, things we don’t believe in, we agree on.”
