Bye, bye, Barbara.
Geena Davis has last but not least confirmed that she does not show up in Tim Burton’s forthcoming “Beetlejuice” sequel.
“No, I’m not. I’m not in the remake,” she informed Amusement Tonight. “Oh, you ended up anticipating that I would be?”
“Yeah, no, you know what?” she went on. “Because my idea is that ghosts don’t age… Not that I have.”
Davis, 68, discovered the information whilst attending the CinemaCon 2024 Significant Screen Achievement Awards on Thursday. She was honored with the Viola Davis Trailblazer Award receiver at the celebration.
Davis portrayed Barbara Maitland in the 1988 unique “Beetlejuice.” Together with Barbara’s partner, Adam (Alec Baldwin), the pair performed ghosts who lived in the household of Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara’s figures, Lydia and Delia Deetz.
Davis’ information suggests that it is highly not likely that Baldwin’s character will appear in “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” although it’s mysterious how their absences will be stated.
“Our people ended up caught the way they looked when they died endlessly, so it is been a though, it’s been a moment,” the “Thelma & Louise” star told ET.
Not only is she not in the forthcoming sequel, but Davis hasn’t even witnessed the film’s trailer.
“I heard the trailer arrived out and somebody stated they had been crying, so I have to see the trailer,” she instructed the outlet.
Ryder, O’Hara, and Michael Keaton, in the meantime, will reprise their roles. The movie will also star Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Burn off Gorman and Willem Dafoe.
“It’s definitely quite particular and psychological and unique,” Burton, 65, gushed about the film to an viewers at CinemaCon on Tuesday. “It’s like a strange large home film for me.”
O’Hara then chimed in, adding that the sequel will be both equally funny and a little bit scary for viewers.
“And if people do not like it, then f–k them.”
Keaton interjected: “I’ll inform you this, it’s truly f–king good.”
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is established to strike theaters on Sept. 6.
