Happy wife, happy life?
A “Family Feud” contestant insulted his wife of nearly 50 years with a brutal joke about their marriage.
In the clip that recently went viral on TikTok, Robbie Weatherspoon told host Steve Harvey what he does for a living.
“I’m retired, I play a lot of golf, and I just recently celebrated my 49th wedding anniversary,” he said.
“Wow, that’s pretty good, man!” Harvey, 67, responded.
The audience cheered for Weatherspoon — but they were not ready for what was coming next.
“That’s not easy. You got to treat her with respect, take her on great trips,” Weatherspoon said, adding, “For our 25th, I took her to China, and next year I’m going to go pick her up.”
Weatherspoon clapped at his own joke as Harvey and the audience laughed.
Then, the camera cut to Weatherspoon’s wife in the audience. Luckily, she wasn’t offended by what her husband said and she laughed off the joke.
Weatherspoon was so proud of his joke that he shared his own video of it.
“Watch me destroy Steve Harvey with insane answers,” Weatherspoon captioned his video.
Fans of the show had a big reaction to Weatherspoon’s brutal diss directed at his spouse.
“Best joke I’ve ever heard hahahah,” one fan commented on the TikTok.
Another fan said, “The way my jaw dropped.”
“That’s hilarious,” a different comment read.
A fourth viewer wrote, “Why is he clapping for himself.”
“He waited 24 years to tell a joke,” another person said.
“Family Feud” has been airing with Harvey as host since 2010.
In March, Harvey told Today why he thinks “Family Feud” has been so successful for so many years.
“What happens on this show don’t happen on any other game show,” he said. “There’s such an interaction with the contestants that it kind of makes it different than most. And I think that’s the magic of this. It’s the interaction with the contestants. I form relationships with them. Storylines. Allow them to be human. And I just don’t let them say anything.”
