Cowboy Carter made sure everyone knows: she’s got the biggest 10-gallon hat in the business. More like 15-gallon, amirite? With special guests, trick riders, and a stadium full of her native Texans, Beyoncé performed the halftime show for Netflix’s big NFL live streaming venture. Netflix’s data scientists will be able to see just how many people turned off the app once Queen Bey was done singing. Isn’t technology amazing? Here’s everything that happened during the Beyoncé NFL Christmas halftime show.
As Bey’s publicist confirmed, the Cowboy Carter hafltime show was less than 20 minites. As a result, most songs only got the medley treatment. But “Texas Hold ‘Em” not only got a full playthru, it had Beyoncé high up in the sky. Here’s all the songs/song snippets we were able to clock.
➽ “16 Carriages”
➽ “Blackbiird” f. Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy and Reyna Roberts
➽ “Ya Ya”
➽ “My House”
➽ “Spaghettii”
➽ “Sweet Honey Buckin’” f. Shaboozey
➽ “Levii’s Jeans” f. Post Malone and a truck completely wrapped in denim
➽ “Jolene” f. Dolly Parton’s disembodied voice
➽ “Texas Hold ‘Em”
Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy and Reyna Roberts all came back for their version of The Beatles’ “Blackbird.” Shaboozey and Post Malone also appeared for their verses on Cowboy Carter. It’s been a huge year for those two; Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” tying “Old Town Road” for most weeks atop the Hot 100, and Post Malone announcing his Coachella headlining performances coming in 2025.
We were saving her for a breakout subsection. Blue Ivy Carter line danced with her mother during “Texas Hold ‘Em.” Will people recreate it on TikTok like they did with her Renaissance tour performance? TBD.
Houston native Beyoncé Knowles shouted out how sweet it was to be performing these songs from Cowboy Carter at home. “I’m so honored to be in Texas right now,” she saidsaid. “It’s only right we do ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ in Texas for the first time.” And with her daughter, no less! But Bey had one more present for us, a tease for a brand new …something.
That’s what we want to know, too!
