Wynonna Judd has been left feeling ‘distraught and powerless’ after her troubled daughter was busted for exposing her breasts and ‘lower body’ on a busy highway in Alabama, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.
Grace Pauline Kelley, 27, is being held in the Elmore County Jail in Wetumpka, Alabama, charged with indecent exposure and obstructing government operations.
Both of the crimes that the country singer’s daughter has been charged with are misdemeanors.
She was booked on April 5 with her bond was set at just $1,000 but she remains in custody after nobody posted her bail – despite her mother’s estimated $12million net worth.
Now, sources close to mom Wynonna have revealed the emotional toll the entire ordeal is taking on the 59-year-old country singer – who ‘blames herself for Grace’s misfortunes.

Elsewhere, another source close to Wynonna (pictured with Grace in 2004) also told DailyMail.com: ‘The amount of emotional pain that Wynonna has dealt with in her family almost seems like a bad dream she can never wake up from’
The insider told DailyMail.com that Wynonna is prepared to ‘take care’ of Grace’s daughter Kaliyah if she goes back to jail – with the singer sharing a sweet video of herself and her granddaughter (seen) as news of the arrest broke
A source close to the star told DailyMail.com: ‘Wynonna is very distraught over Grace’s arrest because she has been working so hard to reestablish her relationship with Grace. But she feels like there is nothing she can do anymore and she powerless.
‘Whenever Grace gets back on track, she falls right off track again and it is a pattern that has no end.’
The insider noted that this latest incident is particularly painful for Wynonna, because it comes almost two years to the day since her mother, Naomi Judd, took her own life – a devastating incident that saw their family rally together.
‘The family all finally became close again following Naomi’s death,’ they said, adding that one bright spot during that tragic time had been the arrival of Grace’s daughter, Kaliyah, who was born that same month.
‘Grace giving Wynonna a granddaughter weeks before Naomi took her life was the best thing that could have happened because she has been able to channel her pain into love for Kaliyah,’ the insider continued.
‘Wynonna is prepared to take care of Kaliyah if Grace goes back to prison again but is praying that this won’t happen.’
Around the same time that news emerged of Grace’s arrest, Wynonna solidified her commitment to her granddaughter, sharing a sweet video of herself playing with the little girl in a playground, captioning the post: ‘The sweet & simple.’
However, when it comes to her own daughter, the insider said the singer is at a loss for what to do next.
The source continued: ‘She just doesn’t know if there is anything else she can do except for what she is doing already.

This isn’t Grace’s first run-in with the law – she has a history of drug-related problems and has previously served time behind bars
‘Wynonna truly only wants the best for her and prays for her non-stop, but she does blame herself for Grace’s misfortunes – especially her addiction.
‘Wynonna feels that her fame caused her to not be the best parent that she could have been to Grace growing up.’
Elsewhere, another source close to the singer also told DailyMail.com: ‘The amount of emotional pain that Wynonna has dealt with in her family almost seems like a bad dream she can never wake up from.
‘And now the latest with her daughter, it has been a process to deal with and something she’s been dealing with for a while. This is yet another moment that Wynonna is trying to figure out, it’s as if someone is playing a mean trick on her.
‘As much as she seems to see things eventually work out, some kind of wrench is always thrown into the situation that changes the direction of everything immediately.’
They continued: ‘Wynonna has been blessed with so much success but the way her personal life has spun out of control with lots of heartbreak, she would change all of her celebrity she’s gained to absolutely nothing and would make sure that her family’s life was in check because you learn sooner or later that is all that matters.’
Documents show that Grace exposed her breasts and lower body at the intersection of Interstate 65 and Highway 14, according AL.com.
It is unclear whether the 27-year-old was walking or driving on the highway when she flashed traffic as well as why she was in Alabama considering that she is a resident of Tennessee.
She initially refused to identify herself when officers tried to arrest her and sat down on the roadside, refusing to comply.
DailyMail.com previously reached out to the Millbrook Police Department for additional details on the case.

This isn’t Grace’s first run-in with the law, she has a history of drug-related problems and has been behind bars on-and-off for the past nine years.
The 27-year-old was sentenced to eight years in 2017 for violating probation after leaving a recovery program.
She was released six years early from prison back in 2019.
The daughter of Wynonna and the singer’s first husband Arch Kelley, Grace had been in and out of jail for more than two years in Tennessee and Alabama on drug-related charges at the time.
She is a mother to one-year-old daughter Kaliyah.

The troubled young woman’s legal saga stems from a December 18, 2015 arrest at a Walgreens in Nashville, Tennessee.
Police noticed a car with two occupants that had been parked there for a lengthy amount of time.
Noticing the car had an improperly installed license plate dangling from a single screw, the detectives approached the car and found Grace in the driver’s seat and a man, Richard Wilcutt, in the passenger seat, according to arrest affidavits.

During the questioning, a concerned citizen handed the cops a bag they’d seen someone throw from the car’s passenger side, which contained a torn up box of pseudo-ephedrine and a receipt for Coleman fuel.
Recognizing these as ingredients used in making meth, detectives ran the pair’s names through a national database and found they’d made a pattern of psuedo-ephedrine purchases consistent with cooking meth.
Using security camera footage, they found that Grace had purchased the pseudo-ephedrine, which they found in Wilcutt’s possession when he was searched.
Both were arrested and charged with promotion of meth manufacture, but Grace later pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of possessing meth.
In 2023, Grace served a five-month sentence at Putnam County Jail after she was arrested in May 2023 for violating parole and an order of protection.
She had been released from jail in December 2022, but was re-arrested on May 1, 2023, on charges of breaching a restraining order and violating her parole.

‘I will tell you this. My daughter is the strongest Judd woman in our ‘herstory,’ Wynonna told Rich.
‘She’s healthier than I was at 23. How she got there – I would not go that way, but I was also sequestered,’ Wynonna told the show’s host.
In 2023, it was revealed that Wynonna has had a rocky relationship with her daughter through the years and in 2013, Wynonna’s actress sister Ashley Judd obtained temporary custody of Grace.
