Following the release of graphic surveillance video on May 17 showing Sean âDiddyâ Combs physically abusing Cassie at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016, the rapper has now apologized. In a video posted to his Instagram, Diddy says, âItâs so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. I was fucked up â I mean, I hit rock bottom â but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. Iâm disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. Iâm disgusted now.â
âI went and I sought out professional help,â he continued. âI got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. Iâm so sorry. But Iâm committed to be a better man each and every day. Iâm not asking for forgiveness. Iâm truly sorry.â The brutal footage showed Diddy grabbing Cassie by the back of her neck and slamming her to the ground in the hallway of the hotel, before kicking her and dragging her by her clothing. As she begins to stand up, he then returned, shoving her and throwing an object at her. Diddy had previously denied the allegations made in Cassieâs lawsuit against him in November, which was settled out of court at the time.
