In information no just one could have foreseen, Chet Hanks’s song and catchphrase “White Boy Summer” has been co-opted by white-nationalist teams. In accordance to the World-wide Job From Loathe and Extremism, these are teams like the Proud Boys and White Lives Matter in the U.S. and the Identitarian movement in Europe. And Hanks will not stand for it! He launched a statement on Instagram denouncing what he feels is a perversion of his song’s message. “White boy summertime was developed to be exciting, playful, and a celebration of fly white boys who like gorgeous queens of each individual race,” he wrote. “Anything else that it has been twisted into to help any variety of dislike or bigotry versus any group of individuals is deplorable and I condemn it.” Hanks coined the phrase in 2021, captioning a different Instagram submit, “Is it bout to be a #WhiteboySummer or am I trippin ???? Tag a True vanilla king #Respectfully.”
