Challengers quickly took to start with location at the box business this weekend, bringing in $15.2 million, in line with estimates in advance of its launch. The film marked the most important opening weekend for director Luca Guadagnino, besting his last movie, the Timothée Chalamet cannibal romance Bones and All. There’s nonetheless home for Challengers to recoup its $55 million price range in the weeks in advance, just before it presumably moves to Amazon Key. But next weekend will see more durable competitiveness for the tennis drama, with the premiere of The Fall Guy starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. Coming in at a distant second put this weekend was Unsung Hero, about the development of the Christian rock duo For King & Country, which took in $7.7 million. That arrived in just ahead of third put finisher Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire which gained $7.2 million. It looks like the trios are besting duos at the box office so considerably, so watch out, The Fall Guy…or locate a third.
