Region songs lifted its purple solo cups superior in tribute to the late Toby Keith at Sunday’s CMT Awards. The nation singer died of stomach most cancers in February. A trio of Keith addresses had been executed at the display: Sammy Hagar did “I Really like This Bar” (fitting due to the fact each he and Keith are themed bar house owners), Brooks & Dunn coated “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” and Lainey Wilson carried out “How Do You Like Me Now?” Each and every overall performance was backed with members of Keith’s longtime band, and Willie Nelson’s son Lukas. Baseball legend Roger Clemens opened and shut the set. “Toby was in Houston, off and on for 3 years whilst he was battling that damn C-term. By it all, he generally saved his humor and his wit,” he explained. At the end, he questioned the group to chant “whiskey for my gentlemen and beer for my horses,” as he thanked the Keith spouse and children for attending the tribute. You can enjoy just about every performance below.
