Brian Cox didn’t mince words and phrases when he bashed Joaquin Phoenix’s performing effectiveness in the 2023 historical drama “Napoleon.”
“It’s horrible,” the “Succession” star, 77, mentioned at London’s HistFest earlier this week. “A truly awful functionality by Joaquin Phoenix.”
The English actor continued: “It actually is appalling. I really do not know what he was considering. I believe it is entirely his fault and I do not assume [director] Ridley Scott assists him.
“I would have played it a large amount much better than Joaquin Phoenix, I convey to you that. You can say it is good drama. No — it’s lies. I assume he’s well named. Joaquin … wackeen … wacky. It is a type of wacky efficiency,” he went on about the pronunciation of Phoenix’s identify.

Cox also reacted to Mel Gibson’s 1995 period drama “Braveheart,” taking a swipe at the historic aspect of it.

Past February, Cox even dissed previous “Succession” co-star Jeremy Strong’s approach acting procedure in an interview with Town & Place.
