Billionaire John Paulson is officially off the market, getting engaged to his girlfriend Alina de Almeida.
The 68-year-old – who made headlines in days ago for hosting a Trump fundraiser at his $110million mansion where his new fiancee showcased her new massive sparkler – got engaged to his 35-year-old girlfriend.
The engagement comes as Paulson is still embroiled in a divorce battle with his ex Jenny Zaharia, who he was married to from 2001 and 2021.
Paulson left Zaharia for the much-younger dietician in 2021, with a source telling Page Six they are quite happy together.
‘John and Alina have been together for two and a half years. They are very happy together and have gotten engaged,’ the source said.

While she was mentioned as the financier’s fiancee in a recent Bloomberg interview, it’s unclear if there is a ring yet.
‘The word ‘fiancée’ has been said,’ a source added, referring to them talking with friends, ‘but I don’t think anyone has seen a ring.’
‘He’s trying to be discreet so as not to get Jenny all riled up,’ the source added, though it’s unclear when a ring will surface.
Over the weekend, Paulson and his new fiancee hosted Donald Trump for his biggest political fundraising event of the 2024 election season to date.
A group of ultra-wealthy donors were hosted by the power couple in Palm Beach for a gathering that was expected to rake in $43 million for the Republican presidential hopeful.
The fundraiser for the ex-president was dubbed the ‘Inaugural Leadership Dinner’ and took place at Paulson’s $100million Palm Beach mansion which he was embroiled in a battle with his estranged wife Jenny over.
Not only was Trump in attendance but he was joined by former First Lady Melania Trump who has been absent from the 2024 campaign trail so far, though she’s reportedly set to host her own fundraising event later this month.
Tickets for the glitzy event Saturday went for as much as $814,600 for the chairman level which includes seating at the table with the former president, reception and a photo opportunity.
The next level was the host committee for $250,000 a ticket. It included ‘VIP seating,’ reception and photo opportunity.

Casino mogul Steve Wynn and wife Andrea were also listed on the invite as is oil tycoon Harold Hamm, Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick and grocery store chain CEO John Catsimatidis.
The co-owner of the Chicago Cubs Todd Ricketts and New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, the former U.S. ambassador to the UK, were also among the co-chairs.
Paulson – who is worth a whopping $4.7 billion – is still locked into a bitter battle with his ex Zaharia.
Lawyers for the scorned wife of hedge fund mogul John Paulson have hit back at his claims she is ‘greedy’ – and said his alleged siphoning of funds into secret trusts is the ‘ultimate example of spousal abuse’.
Billionaire Paulson filed for divorce from his soon-to-be ex-wife Jenny, 52, in 2021, which led to her claiming he had moved at least $1billion into secret trusts, according to legal filings seen by DailyMail.com.
The 67-year-old’s legal team said in documents she is acting out of ‘greed,’ and if the trusts are split as she demands, the assets would incur ‘huge’ sums of taxation – resulting in their two daughters Giselle, 18, and Danielle, 20, receiving a ‘diluted’ inheritance.
But Jenny’s lawyers have hit back, telling DailyMail.com he should ‘know about being greedy’ after filing a new claim accusing her husband of a ‘sham purchase’ of a luxury penthouse in Puerto Rico to ‘improperly enrich himself’ by $10million at the expense of the trusts.

Throughout the years, the former couple of more than two decades built an impressive real-estate portfolio, but it is the lavish Venetian-style South Ocean Drive mansion that they were the most reticent to let go of
‘Imagine the nerve of a guy who we allege spends years secretly stealing assets from his wife that are part of the marital estate before a divorce proceeding,’ said Robert Cohen, attorney for Jenny, of Cohen Clair Lans Greifer & Simpson LLP.
‘Then he secretly takes funds out of the Trust he secretly set up for his personal purposes to buy a $20 million condo. But he purchased it for only $5 million and apparently hasn’t closed on the sale yet.
‘And then he accuses her publicly of being ‘greedy.’ It’s fair to say: That’s what’s called ‘chutzpah’.’
Legal documents filed on September 21 state Paulson bought the apartment at the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort in 2020 for an artificially low price of $5.6 million from a 2009 family trust, which owned the property.
